The West Somerset Railway’s Spring Steam Gala 2012 commemorates the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the line to Watchet on March 31st 1862. This event features a welcome return for a several locomotives, as well as an emotional farewell to one in particular, following 8 years of sterling work. We also feature the first steam locomotive for turn on the new build triangle at Norton Fitzwarren, and some brief scenes from the Winter Steam Festival 2011.
The DVD contains footage from both Gala weekends, and brings together beautiful scenery, outstanding soundtracks, and amazing weather conditions, and steam locomotives hard at work on this challenging 20 mile railway.
