Volume 1 - Britannia Goes West 'Unseen'

Format

On a beautiful summer’s day, on September 6th 2015. we filmed BR Standard Class 7, No. 70000 ‘Britannia. Originally we published the run between Exeter & Plymouth, and Par & Plymouth. Now, 10 years after that amazing run, we bring to you the un-used material from that memorable day.

The first part begins at Bristol Temple Meads, where we climb briefly out of the city before racing across the Somerset Levels to Taunton. After a brief stop, we tackle the climb to Whiteball, before crossing over the boarder into Devon and racing along towards Exeter.

The second part begins at Plymouth. We cross the Royal Albert Bridge into Cornwall and tackle the Cornish Banks, while riding high along the many viaducts, and passing the wonderful array of Great Western Infrastructures, now sadly no longer there.

With live sound recorded from the locomotive, we bring the action right to you.  This program features text titles, gradient maps & locations, and a brief introduction commentary.

Running Time: 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes)
