Short History

Oldham Video Productions (OVP) was set up in 2007 by David Oldham, whose passion for Steam Engines started at an early age, and has continued to grow with every passing year. His first real memories were of Minehead station (West Somerset Railway) and being shown a copper commemorative plate on ex-GWR Pannier Tank No.6412 with the word "In Memory of Michael 'Biggles' Oldham, 1982", an Uncle he never met, but whose enthusiasm for steam he somehow inherited. This developed from riding on trains to working as a volunteer on the WSR and watching endless hours of videos of steam.

Serious filming started in the second half of 2007. After watching a series of videos called "West Country Steam" and learning that they were not going to make any more videos after the 2005 series, David came up with the idea of showing Mainline Steam over former Southern and Great Western metals along with Steam videos along his beloved West Somerset Railway. With so much Steam around, all waiting to be captured on film, the opportunity was too good to miss, and with the help of his friends, David and company look to bring high quality DVDs that you will want to watch over and over again!
