![]() |
In 2025, Ex Great Western & British Railway’s ‘Castle’ Class, No. 5029 ‘Nunney Castle’, returned to the Mainline after an absence of 10 years. In this second volume in our ‘unseen’ series, we bring you a collection of un-used sequences recorded at the end of the 4-6-0’s previous spell of operation which have yet to be published.
Part 1 features the locomotive on May 31st 2014 working along the South Wales Mainline from Cardiff Central as far as Port Talbot with a 500 ton train in tow. Footplate footage included.
Parts 2 & 3, captured on September 16th 2014, feature the 4-6-0 with a 400 ton train working between Taunton & Exeter, including the locomotive's best individual performance on the climb to Whiteball. One of the best soundtracks you will ever hear of a single chimney ‘Castle’ hard at work.
Part 4 concludes the collection with a look at the ‘unseen’ material from the locomotive’s final on February 17th 2015.
With live sound recorded from the locomotive, we bring the action right to you. This program features text titles, gradient maps & locations, and a brief introduction commentary.
Running Time: 2 hours 20 minutes (140 minutes)
